An Evenings Walk

After the heat has gone out of the day and before the sun is completely gone I quite enjoy a walk.

As Darkness Falls

I though of Monet's waterlillies, but there's sure to be someone more appropriate.

Summer Days

Dahlias in the low light of New Years Eve.

I turned a corner and there they were in their discrete beauty. When I was a child they were flowers that Grandma's grew and looked the same, now their subtlety encourages me.
And in our garden magnolias burst forth one by one.
I was out hunting weeds and enjoying the variety of plants, insects and the sounds of birds. I'm maintaining a grassland that really wants to go back to forest. One day we will live there again and livestock will do the job for me, but I probably won't see the glory of these plants getting to go through their life cycle.
In the top left hand corner is a spider. I saw and walked through so many webs.
I was drawn to the lines drawn in nature by the decaying tree.

Rushes are something that I don't want when 'farming', but they have such a wonderful form.

Since I last posted. Some things

Some work in various mediums. Mostly watercolour, but also pencil and tempera.
