Aviva warming up the ground

Trying to get the ground a bit more active with raw umber and a touch of red. I'm happy for the moment.

Road Trip and Flowers

Coming home in the warmth and the light. It's just lovely after a wet spring that pushed the heat away, but maybe the rain will come back soon. So for now we cherish what we are experiencing.

In a hanging basked under Magnolia this is flowering. There is something about flowers, small and large that I love. Perhaps it's their hopefulness.

Further on with Ake and Akim

It's hard to get good photos in the world of phone cameras and wrinkly paper, but here they are now in a state of contemplation.

Weird and Spooky

My camera couldn't cope with the sunlight, but then the background provides such a sharp contrast.

At a quiet day today. I felt a need to make so I did some sketches of shapelets, which has an odd line that just popped into my head.

Stuff from the Studio

In the studio today there was a little painting to finish off A3 and then varnishing. Then another painting using up leftover paint. I don't know where this will lead.

A3 & A4

It has been a little strange to work on paintings derived from observation, but rewarding.

All Fallen Over

This silver wattle has been overwhelmed. Mistletoe and rot and finally the wind. It will be good firewood when it has dried out.

Holidays

We went to Raymond Island and the Abbey of St Barnabas for a course on the transformation of art from the religious to the secular during the Renaissance. Before we arrived there had been large amount of rain so that when we arrived in Paynesville for the ferry it wasn't operating and we had catch the water taxi and bus replacement. The next day we revegetated and the day after did the course. This is a panorama taken on our walk back to catch the water taxi.
A photo of Danau Buyan. The waterweed inhibits fishing and is a frustration.
I loved when we got out into the countryside. Looking across paddy to some mountains.

A Tranquil Lake Gutheridge

We stopped by Lake Guthridge on our way home from Canberra. It was cool but tranquil.

Aiken With Some Colour

Aiken with some colour added. It jarred to me to begins with, but now I'm bit happier. It still needs more work.

Aiken Waiting for Colour

Now when this dries it will have colour layered over the geometric shapes and white ground over the shapelets.

Since I last posted. Some things

Some work in various mediums. Mostly watercolour, but also pencil and tempera.
