Dad's Old Slides

All these slides are simply scanned an unretouched. I have no idea about this picture. It just intrigues me.

The Massey Ferguson 35 when it was brand new in the early '60's.

More on Aderine, Adin and Adira

It has been a long time since I've done any work on Aderine, but today I felt inspired to try something else. It still needs something else.
Adin, above, and Adira, below, are close to being finished. Baring some further inspiration all they need is varnishing.

Phone photos

Recently I bought an Android based 'smart' phone from the low end of the market. One of the things that I was pleased with was the 'idea of' the 3mp camera. I knew that it wouldn't necessarily take great photos, but at least an acceptable record. At first I was disappointed because they didn't seem any better than my previous VGA quality photos. Yesterday I downloaded  photos from the camera and in their own abbreviated way I think they have a 'nice syntax', but maybe its 'Stockholm Syndrome'. Anyway here they are.
Taken in Yarragon looking north. I like its plainness in the foreground contrasted with the turbulent sky.
The golden glow of the sunset reflecting off the bargeboard and the chimney caught my eye. Considering the quality of the image there seemed no point in cropping to highlight this. Besides the whole image has its own quality.
Church interior with recalcitrant sensor light. I like the way that the windows image has been simplified along with the steel reinforcing bars.

An alien

A little alien that I made while playing my part at the kid's club in Yarragon.

Beginnings of two new paintings and the finish of one

The beginnings of 2 new paintings. The first, Adin, is on gessoed masonite with charcoal drawing painted over with white albumin tempera.

The second, Adira, follows the same approach except that it's drawn in graphite.

Both of these paintings are underpainting for something similar to Adi below.
 Adi now finished?

Since I last posted. Some things

Some work in various mediums. Mostly watercolour, but also pencil and tempera.
