After Fire

I took these photos beside the freeway between Moe and Morwell. I was particularly struck by the completely blackened trees in the first photo. It will be interesting to see how the gums react. As scorched as they look they will probably spring back to life; so that in a few years it will be hard to believe there was ever a fire.

Agnessa

I've been working Agnessa which is in acrylic and I'm finding it quite frustrating because when it dries it's done. There's not that interplay that I get with tempera. Part of my problem is I think, that I'm not painting generously. I need to take the risk and mix paint and be prepared to waste. Ah well, if all else fails, persist and in the end almost certainly something worthwhile will appear.
