These works drew me to think about how much easier it is to be playful with 'hand scale' works as opposed to 'body scaled' works. Some of the difficulty is scaling up the materials and space in which to make the work with the fluidity and rapidity that 'hand scale' work gives. Some of the difficulty is in my thought processes where larger work tightens up in seriousness very quickly, whereas the smaller works don't have the same trajectory. I don't think I can fight to be playful. It has to come from my attitude of mind.
