Alberic and Albertus


Alberic and Albertus, at the end(ish). Today the thought occurred to me that after 'years' of disquiet about the figure and ground, wanting the figure to stand out, but finding the pale ground discordant, too self effacing, that the answer is this sort of ground. The eyes do have to work harder to draw the figure out of the ground, however they still are separate, but more mysteriously related. Perhaps this makes sense, perhaps it doesn't.
