Another Clumping

Life has been busy. This has left me at times pining to choose a creative act and taking a photo quickly comes to hand.

Flinders

It's been awhile. Two months of work on a house. A retina detachment. A holiday. The holiday was reduced because we couldn't fly because of my eye. So to Loch Sport, Mt Martha & Tullycavan.

A Gathering of Things

Queen's Birthday weekend and oops! at lunch something got spilt.
These two beautiful coffee things have come into my life. Our son has a stainless steel espresso machine and I thought that it was good and wanted one, but thought I'd wait and see if one came into the Op Shop. Well that didn't happen, but in time these came.
This winter we have had some lovely weather with bright blue skies and still air. Not hot, but beautiful to work in.
Rosellas in the pawlonia in the early morning light.

Every Now and Then I Get to Paint

So I've been working on other things at Tullycavan. It has been intense. On Tuesday I got to the studio and these are small paintings, Alekos, Aleksi, Alessio, Alexia,  that are part way through. Shapes and colour to come. A sadness to some.

The Fish Ladder

I've not long finished reading this book. I enjoyed it with its mosaic of life journey, story, sense of place, travel, myth, cancer and searching for her family of origin.

So Long from the Brush

It has been awhile since I've been able to get to the studio to paint and I won't really be able to for awhile to come, but I had to clean up the paint from kid's club so I took the opportunity to be deliberate in my using the paint. They have bits I like. It's not a direction I intend to follow.

Hydrangeas Months Later

I have been pleased to see that hydrangeas as they age bring a different beauty.

In My Periphery

I was just struck by beauty of this deadly mushroom, or at least it would make you very sick.
This grass was under a car so was slowly going white, but its linearity was emphasised.

A Life Well Lived

I found this dead butterfly in the house. Its beauty lingering on.

A Controlled Burn and the Next Day

The smoke rising from a controlled burn to reduce the fuel load of a forest.
 The next days smoke haze.
Another sunset.
The cold front came through and cleared the smoke.
In these last two photos I saw two heart shaped breaks in the clouds that were loosely captured in the photos.

Recent paintings

Recent paintings, most of which are on display at the Station Gallery in Yarragon
