A Nativity Mural

The kids at Jaffas worked on this. I had to do a bit of finishing off, but love the effects.

Before the War

We listened to this as we drove the roads around here. I really enjoyed the story and the authorial voice intervening from time to time, responding to her own creation. The death of Vivienne its concatenations spiraling through the characters lives.

Oliver Jeffers

I acquired this book and am enjoying it immensely. I like the glimpses into an artists meandering way.

Floral Tribute to Spring

I can't claim the flowers, just barrowing the mulch, however they are wonderful.

Paintings in Albumin Tempera

I wasn't too excited by these while I was painting them. They were frustratingly, not delightful, but with the distance of time and photograph I can feel some delight.

Life Continues to Happen

Blossom the hope of new life.
A prosaic image seen askew draws me reappraise what is interesting.

 Figures and lines.
The shore line was littered with shells.
A slumbering weight balanced in the sky.

Drawings

Something done in conjunction with watching television. [Now a bit of too much information]. Last year I had retinal detachments in both eyes and in the process of the reattachment had cataract surgery as well to save future operations. Therefore now when I draw it is either no glasses and have approximate close vision or wear glasses and draw things up to about 30cm away. I could of course got multi-focal lenses, but then I'm sure I would have ended up wearing glasses all the time and I'm so enjoying not having to wear glasses after about 50 years of wearing them. I may have to give in to multi-vocals in the end, but for the moment I'll persevere.

More Alastar and Alan

Well now I'm a bit stuck, therefore back to contemplation.

Playing

On Monday I showed a group my use of egg tempera and this playing is using up the paint made for that.

Some Painting

Close to the end of the process.
More work to go on this.
Robot Dancing is just beginning its journey. Starting off in acrylic because I had some leftover from another project.

Grass

One of those things I like. The end of the lifecycle of grass.

A Ladybird

On top of a three metre post this ladybird delighted me. An import from over the seas I think.

A Gathering of Images

Evening at Tullycavan. I love early autumn.
 Flowers in the wind.
Tranquil Blue Rock Dam on Good Friday.
Is this a controlled burn?

Tullycavan in early Autumn

A view across the gully, note the collapsed wattle in the foreground, killed by mistletoe.
 Kangaroo Apples?

 Flowering Mint
 Beans.
 Spinach of some sort.
Spring Home
Fledglings have flown
A turbulent summer cold front has wrenched it from its branch
now lies forlorn
